Mud crab: facts, danger and how to survive it

About the real animal
The mud crab lives in mangroves, swamps and muddy estuaries, burying itself in the soft mud. It has very heavy claws, which it uses to crack open shellfish, and it is an opportunistic feeder. It is a prized food in many places, and is carefully handled because of its strong pinch.
