Escape the Deep Forest

Fox: facts, danger and how to survive it

A shy hunter of rabbits, squirrels and birds. It avoids you, but bites if it is cornered or hurt.

About the real animal

The Indian fox is a small, fast fox of open country and scrub, about the size of a cat, with a grey-fawn coat and a black-tipped tail. It lives in burrows, hunts mostly at dusk and through the night, and eats rodents, insects, birds, eggs and fruit. A fox has very good hearing and uses a high pounce to catch small prey in grass. The red fox, also found in the Himalayas and across the northern hemisphere, is larger and rust-coloured. Foxes avoid people and fight only when they are cornered.

In the game

Foxes are shy hunters of rabbits, squirrels and birds. A fox avoids you, and it will run if you approach, but it will bite if you corner it or injure it. It is not a threat unless you chase it into a corner. A fox gives little meat and one hide. There are two kinds in the game, the red fox and the Bengal fox, chosen at random.
